dr. xenophobe or: how I learned to stop blogging and love the animu

June 19, 2008 – 12:58 am by nunka

Yeah. I’m done for now.

It was short-lived and ill-fated.

Maybe I’ll start blogging again when I acquire a somewhat positive worldview… or when I can stop avoiding new episodes of shit because I feel obligated to blog about them… or when I stop hating anime fandom.

As if any of those will ever happen.

In the meantime, I’ll be in ur blogz, trollin ur commentz.

    Is this a joke?

Already? You shouldn’t stop blogging because of pressure from obligation. You should just post whatever and whenever you like. Even if you just post about DFC - that’d just be funny.

This is nothing new for me. I binge. The last week or so was an example of me binge blogging. I always burn out pretty quickly.

I’m stopping now because I have some real mental issues I need to take care of. My life is pretty fucked up right now. Actually, that probably has nothing to do with me not wanting to blog, but it’s still relevant.

I’m stopping because I feel like I’m somehow better or smarter than all the other anime fans out there, and my blog has to show it, which I’m currently convinced is impossible.

And, of course, because I find writing to be an entirely agonizing ordeal. I can never quite say what I want to, I’m never satisfied with the end result of my efforts, and it takes a damn long time for me to get my thoughts together. It took me half an hour to write this comment. So, yeah.

Oh nooooo…another one bites the dust…

Well, if nothing else you can always adopt my philosophy: Blog only if you feel like it, and don’t be bothered about how many pageviews you are or aren’t getting.

If you’re excited to blog, your content will probably be good and people will still be willing to come read it. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, not only are you doing yourself a disservice, but your content will not be the same.

Here’s wishing you the best; hopefully you’ll still be able to blog a bit here and there! =o
